^^^^^^^^ IMO if you can taste the "butane" you are doing it wrong. Chances are either you are touching the flame to the filter or you did at one point and it deposited soot. Both of those would greatly affect the taste you are getting out of a VG. This is why i recommend using a torch. No soot...

I just use a cup and bang the stem on the inside like I was ringing a bell. If the stem is warm the stuff will fall right out. No fuss no mess.

To me the better hash vaporisers are the SSV and Glass VG. Both can easily be pushed past the normal vaporising temps and will give great results with hash. GVG with a torch means nice hits in 5 seconds , no pre warming needed.
