I can totally understand that. I just wish there was a way to do it without quite so deep of a cutout. That combined with the loss of mass from losing the inner taper seems to make a big difference for efficiency. It's like night and day when I switch setups. I can't figure out of it's mostly...
The MPL store says they are rated for 30-50w so I didn't push it. They're interesting in how efficient they are, but if I want that vibe I'll go Imp. I put the .460 quad coils back in. Figure if I'm going to wait 6-10s for a cold start, might as well get a cloudy bong hit out of it. :D
Really...
I needed a new thinner O-ring so I added some DT ceramics and a shorty stem to the shipment that arrived today.
So far I'm not really impressed with these coils. Long heatup and a little weak on vapor. Flavor isn't much improved over normal coils to me. Am I missing something? Do they last a...
I got about 70% more battery life today than usual using the old Imp body and ground glass stem. I was using a custom 14/10 short cooling stem with smaller bowls than stock anything Imp, so a little hard to compare apples to apples. But it sure seemed to get me high a lot more often without the...
Welcome to the club! (This is Improvaper from Vaporents)
Edit because I don't feel like waiting for another post :D :
Can anyone tell me if the Si will hold weight in this same manner as the OG StemPod with the thinner sheathing?
I'm not going to stress usage stats enough to test them in an uber-scientific manner. The important thing to me is simply noticing what affects battery most, because with such a tiny system it can make quite a difference regarding getting through the day on one charge or not. There are a lot of...
So, just wanted to throw some ideas out there... I've been too busy with sessions to do much real testing, but some thoughts:
I've been noticing my battery life has been diminished since moving to the new Imp body and stem system. Instead of the 3-4 bowls per battery I'm getting more like...
Have you tried a different cable? These firmware installers are particularly picky. A cable I use all the time for charging and data was a no go while another of the exact same type was fine. Try whatever you got and see if one lights up for you.
My screen fell out a lot when I first got it but hasn't since the first few days. Not sure if that's what you mean, @mistvaporizer ?
Regarding my TCR technique, I'm finding that while the super fast vapor on the first hit thing is great, I'm eating through battery a lot faster. I'm going to go...
Well, my wife just got home from work and took a cold hit on the Imp. She is the queen of "ghost hit/combustion" frustration. She just has a terrible time with convection vapes (I did introduce a lot of them at once, I'll admit) and the Imp for whatever reason is her toughest one.
Her eyes lit...
My understanding of TCR doesn't really help explain the results that I'm experiencing, but they are undeniable to me after testing for a day now. By lowering my TCR to 105, I'm getting simply incredible performance.
Try it yourself... wherever you're happy now, setting's-wise, lower your TCR...
Ok, so here's a general picture I'm seeing forming with my TCR usage on the Imp:
The baseline instructions of TCR 185 work fine for me with my measured stock coil resistance reading of 222 ohms locked in. Temperatures and vapors feel appropriate for a given temperature. No coil glowing until...
Yeah, I edited until I can test more. But I'm not using my DNA mod with the Imp. Just the Tubo'd Evic v2. Thank you for the info, though. Still working on my StemPod setup as well and I'm finding tiered profiles are necessary there to compensate for degrading coils without having to constantly...
I have reattached the StemPod, gotten the new atomizer message and selected yes. Resistance reads fine. Then I checked to relock resistance. My settings are all saved as presets. I shouldn't have to set them up from scratch, right?
Hey @antispleen would you mind sharing your current fav TCR/resistance/wattage settings so I don't have to search back for them? Thanks. I'm experimenting.
Hey guys, quick question before I go into deep tinker land... [tldr: can TCR change with a heat sink?]
Today I took off my heat sink that has lived with the StemPod basically since I got it. I don't think I really need it with my larger mod (Reuleaux DNA200) but had kept it because it created a...
Hey, I'll bet a number of you have some spare Imp bodies and stems laying around at this point. Try adding a ceramic banger and some butane to make it a StickyImp!
I put a little silicone tape around the bottom of the banger to help the fit. You'd be amazed at how effective this is. I know...
