Thats awesome, yes I believe I had written that the heating units are 25 watts, they are actually 20 watt stainless heating elements.. that may have been a typo previously that I didn't correct. So 17-18 watts is pretty close to the rating of the element.

There are no temperature markings on the unit. It does not use a microprocessor or thermostat, so it is up to you to find the sweet spot. generally you will find the sweet spot within 1 to 2 uses.
