Go ahead and burn your carts out at 7.4v checking then.... I've tested a few carts not only for myself, but others too this way with great results. I have also burned out carts checking at 7.4v on accident and in the beginning. If it gets warm it will work.

Test all carts at 3.7v. That means with your Omicron or Persei with 18650 battery. With a 3ohm or higher you will need to feel for the heat rather than look down the air path for the glow.

You may have probed too far in the bottom hole and broke the heater. That would cause a bottom leak for sure. What concentrate are you using? Is it liquid or more solid?
