I don’t quite follow, can you explain the wedge?
The turn back was part of the design to allow the wood to cool the vape rather than needing much glass. The vapor hits 3 elbow turns before hitting the mouthpiece so it’s very smooth. I actually would like to see if others build their own, but...
Hello #rbtopensource fam, I’ve been sitting on my kit trying to decide which direction to mod it... and measured out the dimensions to better help picture what would fit. (Currently working the idea of halogen, but I’ll post once further in). Here’s the rough (within 0.1mm) measurements of the z...
Recently purchased an elev8r, and outside of some qc issues it has been a big time hitter. Filled this one with boro balls and heat retention is easily doubled, but also increases your odds of combustion (which honestly without the beads I’d say is fairly low)
word of caution...my first wpa...
First of all, this thread is for all diy butane vapes. Please share your own builds and let’s all discuss.
I haven’t seen a previous diy thread for this. If I missed it let me know and we’ll get a mod to combine.
To start things off I’m going to share my diy butane vape:
I’ve been messing...
Thank you @Fosil ! I’m curious what kind of quotes you get for cnc, that would be very cool. I personally don’t use a 3D printer but thank you! Maybe I will get one sooner than later lol
Awesome! How long is that piece of hose in addition to the half inch seen above the base?
I'm planning to use a spare project box I have just to house the wires and electronics, with an attached nice piece of cherry or walnut on the top. I imagine the wood will keep it cool enough, now I...
been fairly busy lately, but some parts arrived and a rough design is in progress. Planning to disassemble the blue handle and remount the internals in a manner similar to the sketch shown. Still bouncing ideas around,if anyone has Ideas for a nice base setup.
Good TC information from user SEEK -
"Nickel and Titanium can release toxic fumes when heated above certain temperature. And TC can keep it from reaching that, while wattage mode can easily overheat the coil. Their resistance changes significantly when hot, which can make TC control easy for...
Definitely! Likewise, sharing info and furthering each other’s project would be great. There are some great examples from people of all skill levels throughout here so it’s awesome.
@Fosil this is awesome! We have a second thread that’s ongoing working on similar diy desktop projects if you’d like to check over there as well! A few new members reached out over some projects I’ve posted on Instagram, with their own very cool diy work! I’ve asked them to join and share with...
thank you, you’re contribution to the scientific field will not go unnoticed! I was considering filling the elev8r with beads once I get it, now I definitely will be lol.
Additionally I’ve landed on my final prototype for this form factor until some new parts arrive / I can work on a wood...
Playing with my vapor lighter the last few days and finally dialed in temp control on arctic fox fw.
Running ss-316L at 40watts and 390F has opened the whole device up. I was ripping at 32 watts VW, but this is crazy. I got a little overzealous and almost combusted, but it was just the tallest...
Haha you are correct.. it’s only electrical tape for now. The heat stays in the glass for the most part. Everything else is able to be handled.
Awaiting some parts from elev8 that should really upgrade the performance and aesthetics. @510710vape ’s suggestions should be here whenever shipping...
Thanks! For a prototype it’s really working well but Can definitely combust, especially if the unit is preheated too high. Still trying to figure out where on the dial is perfect.
As of right now I’d say the biggest functional issue is that the airflow cools it after a draw fairly fast. You get...
