I don't think so. You should always do an initial clean and burn-off before use of any new vape IMO... But the sand/bead or other media simply pits the surface, there should be no loose metal.

I prefer the omnivap. The titanium is stronger, easier to keep nice. Can last lifetimes with minimum care. But the wood pieces do look amazing. If you prefer the older omnivap look, i do, puff it up still has some.
