one more thing... right after my last post... i turned on the extreme and it had changed the preset temperature to 54C which is odd because when you add 5 degrees it makes 59C, 64C, and so on.... this is only remedied by using the remote and pressing a preset button like 310C.... ya think...

defintely... 310 is the way to go.. and ive been following your method of preheating for 10 minutes and then preheating the bowl for 10 minutes.... i think Steve agreed that I don't have a new model unit because 310 would cause ignition in the new model.... he actually said 310C is a good...

i just ordered the one from ebay for 50 bones... but that pelican case does look sweet.... lets hope we can get by with a $50 case instead of $100 though :) i also got a response from Steve who confirmed that the beeping when turned off can be caused by electrical interference..... and also...

yeah... i think ill see what the man thinks... i have some more notes as of late i find that the screens for the attachments that go on top of the bowl are very loose and fall in sometimes.. i read somewhere to bend them with your finger or something but i never could and i killed one with...

ok... so couple of strange things if anyone is still following this thread.... my unit beeps randomly when plugged in but not turned on... anyone else? also i have found that 310C is the best temp for me on the first generation exteme.... AND 315 is good for the second bag..... HOWEVER...

i just had a strange occurrence... i left it on 310 for 40 mins..... used a cyclone on the first and then switched to a tuff... while i was waiting for number 2 to preheat the unit beeped once and then lowered to 270... i turned off the unit to let it cool down..... weird... any ideas ?

well... stickstones.. i think your method is right on... i got one thick bag.... then i tried another one and got nothing... although the material still wasn't entirely spent (some was still fresh) ... would i possibly want to turn up the second bag? also it concerns me that i can smell it when...

yes i think 310C is the optimal speed for this baby as well... i will try your method stickstones and report back here... i think it would be crazy to go above 315C.... i absolutely love how this interfaces with glass you already have.. the bag becomes a slidel for your favorite glass water...

im not really sure what ur saying stickstones... could you please elaborate... i can usually get about 3 bags at 310 all very thick.... or i can just use the whip at 310... either way the material will be completely spent.... any thoughts on a case ?
