In general, if any of the plastic wrap is removed, then yes, there is something to worry about.
The only special exception is if you (or a closely known person) removed it "by mistake" - in only that case, if you're careful, you can repair it is thin adhesive insulating tape. It is probably...
The 1701's were there last March also IIRC.
In the semiconductor industry there's a quote "Gallium Arsenide is the material of the future - and always will be." (If I'm correct, the proper attribution is Carver Mead, 1977 originally).
The 1701s have been on the web site, without any "Add to...
I've thought about this on and off, at least since the "Reactor" was renamed to the "Core".
It seems to me, that rather than being an add-on to either the Persei or Omicron, it would be very much preferable to have the "Core" actually ship with a base unit of power supply, handle and maybe even...
I've been watching patiently for months hoping to learn that _I_ will be able to torch an EO cartridge back to "new" (re. as white or near white ceramic after cleaning). The eventual problem with the DART seems to be carbon build up - one of mine has slowed noticeably (though it remains my most...
The 7.4v Hercules, with a 1.5 Ohm resistance, draws just a shade under 5 Amps at 7.4v - more with fresh-off-the-charger 8.4v cells. At 1.6 Ohms (the other reported measure, and what mine is), the current is about 6% less - little difference.
At these current levels, a pair of AW 700mAh 18350s...
It seems my eariler post was misinterpreted: The Persei doesn't have much smell when using oil or wax. What I meant to say was that nearly any use of flowers will smell like the flowers - for good or bad (e.g. "taste" could be by choice).
I find that I can blow vapor from either oil or wax at...
I haven't used flowers yet this year. What I've got is sitting going stale.
Basically, one problem - they stink. Even bubble in a log works fine. And I worry about just visible vapor (hold it in...) as well as odor.

We should all be in the Bay area :) I used to be and still visit a few times a year.
Here is what $28/g wax available today looks like:
This looks pretty amazing to me - at least for $28/g. out the door (I was told about some honeycomb last month at $20/g. also at ARC). Still, I'll get by...
As many times mentioned by our sage OF, the "foil test" is a good simple method. If you put a bit on some foil and heat from below, it should completely evaporate leaving no or very, very little residue. Anything else will foul the wick quickly.
ISO extracts with lots of chlorophyll appear...
There's a discount code listed at ECF for 2% off that I've used before. It is "cpf", which I suspect comes from "Candle Power Forum" (a "serious" flashlight site").

This isn't the only thread with this problem; Here on FC it seems nearly everyone uses the word "viscous" to mean the exact opposite of what it does mean. Viscous mean thick - more viscous is thicker, less viscous is thinner. e.g. any solid wax is more viscous than liquid oils and PG is LESS...
I'm looking for a new car; If you find a general solution, would you post it for the rest of us?

P.S. If anything goes wrong, D9 has good customer service and generally will make good on warranties and even stuff not covered sometimes :) I've never had problems with an "original"...
A pair of 1.5 Ohm carts will draw more than the specified power limit of the Persei (i.e. 5 Amps ) with a freshly charged battery.
If you want to try something like this, I recommend dual 4 Ohms at 7.4v - Go easy on the button.

Guilty as charged.
I have a Dart in a 100mAh Twist in my hand - now back in pocket - as I type. I have two LV DARTs and 4 Twists. Definitely the fastest method for quick clouds available to me (so far). Great combination. I run them set to 4 volts, and they are all delivering within a few...
Sorry, not all your questions.
The HVD upgrade lets you run 4 & 5 Ohm carts on an Omicron; By itself, and especially if you have a Persei, this is of limited value (most use: in my experience a 4Ohm at 7.4 is a bit hotter than a 1.5 at 3.7v), but the increase in delivered voltage to the common...
Good guessing, but you're wrong. Maybe yours doesn't leak from the heater base, but mine does. (maybe look up "proof by example"). I'm sure at least one prototype didn't crack the heater base, didn't "eat" oil/wax and didn't leak out the threaded end (from where the bottom is pressed onto the...
