I have a few CUs and rotate. I have an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner and I pop the CU into a bag of ISO and then in the ultrasonic for 10 minutes and it looks like new. I do take top from bottom and remove o-rings but that's it. Screen cleans up like its new. Cheers

Also, you can fit a barrel coil to a banger fairly well....axial, not so much so there is likely to be more space between the walls of the banger and vertical part of the axial coil. Take your pick....more heat on the bottom with axial or better heat transfer (in general) with the barrel.
