If found the same thing. I usually finish my session at 3:00, and I can see some spots of brighter AVB, but if I stir and take another hit then that hit will be small, taste burnt, and won't make any noticeable difference to the high. No difference at all.

That's the same issue I was having with mine. I found that if I kept the unit flat on a table and was very steady in holding the hydratube then itd give me a hit, but otherwise it wouldn't work. I got about one half-sized hit out of mine before I just gave up and used whatever bud I had left.
