It's actually a little recycler. Both of those connections are open. While there is no vortex there is a ton of recycling going on. You can huff on it as hard as you want and not get a drop in ur mouth (if the water level is correct).

The mushroom was a special order. Its for a solo for use with a hydratube. I put the frit pipes in the pic because I've just recently started using frit. So I'm gonna start doing gongs with frit too

Attempt 2..... Fail 2..... :( Shortened it up the extra 1/4" yielded even more boiling but very minimal vapor. If the nano actually went to 11 I think it'd do it! I'm out of ideas for now. I need like a small fritted filter or like @MuushuPork said, a small healthstone like insert. Oh well...

You got it on the nose @Tweak! That's what makes doing this one so hard. Because there's no way to incorporate the conduction part. So Im trying to make it work off full convection. Not so sure it'll happen though.

Well @stickstones ive got about another 1/4 inch I can play with on it. I had it boiling at the current height so hopefully that 1/4" is the difference needed.

Yeah I'm going to try to drop the nano heater about a 1/4" closer to the oil. If that doesn't work then I don't know what to think.

Yeah my design is based off of the vxn. Except mine was supposed to work upside down. Unfortunately that's a no go. I do believe I could make one that'd work for dry use based on the vxn but who the hell wants to do a dry dab! Or you'd have to use a hydratube. This first prototype does however...

Just a heads up, the first dedicated oil gong for the nano was a giant FAIL. :( I can get the oil to boil but not produce anything other than wispy vapor. I have one more idea to try and then I'm out of ideas.

From what I understand, yes it's brighter than the old uv stuff. As for that solid state frit, I have heard nothing but bad about it as of late. I heard it burns out the glow terribly and is prone to checking like crazy.
