I think you worded that last part wrong. For thicker oils, i was told you want the rod slightly above the coil. Like 1-2 mm which a 30% coil should achieve

My one coil came cut about 50% already, but to get it to about a 30% coil i used a small scissors and kinda cut it down a little bit at a time, going around the coil as i was cutting if that makes sense. The coil definitely became less stable and is easily stretched apart, but i just smushed it...

Do you have a white rod or a blue rod? If its the blue rod, you shouldnt be using "batts". You need just one 3.7V 18650 battery or one 18350 battery. But if you used the two 18350 batteries with the blue rod you probably would have fried either the hercules, the persei or both, so im assuming...

I know what you mean. The whole thing seemed overwhelming to me at first which is why it took me so long to jump on board. All these different batteries and numbers, as well as a bunch of different parts and attachments...and then getting a non working hercules at first didnt help matters that...
