I also don't grind the abv. It may make it more potent, but you get way to much flavanoids that way. Your butter will be extra green. And I only simmer it for less than 15 minutes. I think the max I can fit in a lb of butter is ~4oz ABV. Any more and it burns.

Yeah I would say your low on the amount of ABV. But it may suit your need. I make mine as strong as possible.

Great Idea to keep it water logged. I only think it would remove the contaminants after a small amount of time instead of 7 days? Ill have to compare a non water flushed to straight in. I don't think I will get the same potency as washing will. Especially if you grind fine.

As sundaddy said dark ABV has less active Ingredients thus you would need a lot more, and ingesting ABV has never done my stomach a favor. I like extracting it in oil, and leave the ABV behind.
