The persei alone won't do any flowers, you would need either the hercules attachment or the hammer/bender in order to do flowers. I wish I could tell you how it compares to the evo but I haven't tried either of those attachments unfortunately

a safety pin will work fine and dint worry about damaging the crucible it is stainless steel. Even if somehow a pin could damage the holes, it wouldn't be a big deal. IIRC someone on here actually drilled out those holes a little bigger to improve the draw, I wouldn't recommend doing it...

I meant stealthy as in out in public, but even then you can drop it in a cup. I agree with you though,I regularly use my solo in hotel rooms and just exhale through I wadded up wash clothe without issue

Unless you need it to be very stealthy you should be looking at the solo.
