Ed's TnT Wooden Vapor Tubes & Vapor Stems

I have had my little metal turning lathe for about 10 years now. Had some issues with the speed control at first, but it has been a great machine. Definitely up to small production runs. I just mount my drill press to the tool holder when I want to do drilling (like those 6 small holes in the...

Ed's TnT Wooden Vapor Tubes & Vapor Stems

Thanks Ed. You just need to get yourself a small metal turning lathe. They allow you to make some amazing things. Making the tooling is the real trick. Thank goodness for ceramic inserts. There is never enough time.

How are those twin nipple bOOblers coming along bOObs? Can't wait to try a bOObius.

It is just 7/16" stainless tubing. The tricky part is boring it out to 10mm since 7/16" is very close to 11mm. This only leaves a 0.5mm wall thickness. That is also why it doesn't steal away too much heat during roasting. Glad you are happy with the new steel bowl on the old wood tube. Good move...

u bwade wunner - Thanks so much for the photos. They look great. The last one shows really well how the glass nipple connects to the HI center tube. I really love the innovative ways you all are discovering for using the roasting tubes. It is very cool how all the tubes can interact and...

    The HI

I use an identical fitting to that for my thread-on tips. Silicone stretched over 1/4" stainless tubing fits in the glass perfectly. The problem with using it for an all glass turbo tube is that I must bore a 10mm hole into it. The wall thickness is only 1.5mm after boring the hole. The glass...

GratefulVapor - We can talk about roasting tubes when the time comes. I may even have some new ones. I'm trying to always have some tubes on hand. Seems like there is always another tube to make. Have spent the last couple of days turning glass tubes. Those tapered ends are sure a pain in the...

Good to hear from you nugghuffer. Those videos from bOObs do make it hard to wait. It is all about the air flow. That was my main design objective with the HI. The roasting tubes are a vital part of the system. They have been a bit of an obsession for me lately. Got a reply back to you...

I got busted . I wanna share and cry for your help ..

Very sorry to hear of your plight Abysmal. Such a shame when those in positions of authority can no longer think for themselves. They just do what they are told whether it makes sense or not. It is easier to just not think and follow orders. The culture just continues as the few world ruling...

The Vapor Lung is probably my favorite roasting method. It gives the biggest range of flavor and effects. I enjoy the flavor of direct draw. There is no water mess. No heavy draw. Water works well for trapping particulates and some cooling. The larger the surface area, the better the cooling...

Vapinghole - bOObs HIwalker is a JedHI knight and he does wield a mean HIsaber. The vapor is strong with him. I have also transcended to the full voltage / tube position / air mix method of temperature control. Fun to try different methods. mestizo - My plan is to include a heating element...

Happy 4/20 everyone. Hope the day is good for all. I had the chance to get a photo today of how heat will change the color of wood. All the wood was cut from the same piece of dark cherry. The one on the left is blank and has tenons cut on the ends for grabbing it with the lathe jaws. The wood...

420 posts and almost 4/20. Definitely time to celebrate. Jackmormon - You will find just the right technique. Glad the new tool worked. The field test was a success. Just how I hoped it would be. Thanks for the tip on the air cleaning tool. I will definitely have to pick one up. Makes much...

    The HI

I missed the last two posts on the page before this one. Thanks staticsunn. The HI can be disassembled for cleaning. The small poly tube should work pretty well for removing the heating element. If it doesn't work for you, I have some new metal tools for removing the heating element I can send...

    The HI

Big "C" little "c". What begins with "C". Cannabis, convection, carb, and cough begin that way. :D This is a recent addition to the HI. It is a section of poly tubing as a support for the adapter. It just fits snugly in place to keep the adapter from moving when inserting the plug.
