Ahh very interesting. Well, I didn't do a "burn off" so I hope I didn't inhale anything harmful :)
And I think I know what you mean with the plastic taste.. The only time I taste something like that is when I close the mouthpiece and take the final draw of vapor from it. It always tastes so weird.
Not really sure what "plastic taste" you're referring to.. and I've never heard of having to "burn off" anything in the Pax beforehand. I'm curious, where did you get the "burn off" idea from?
I have not tried a second Pax screen as a spacer but I can imagine that would indeed be very hard to...
I agree with @Vape Dr. in that there is no right or wrong temp to use.. But the method of vaping on Low, then moving up to Medium while stirring periodically is a great way to get the most out of the herb. I personally never choose High temp because it tends to be much harsher, gives fewer...
Yes but if the mouthpiece is put away too lubricated I think it could cause some excess to burn away when it next heats up.. Which would explain my sizzle.
Just a guess though.
Stains build character. Wear that stain proudly
* But yes I second @EveryDayAmnesiac in saying cleaning under the screen is good advice.. And don't wait until the gunk builds way up to do it. Stains are a part of this business, but doing micro cleans help with overall longevity and...
Does anyone else experience frequent popping and hissing when vaping a full oven? I've seen a couple people mention this and the only solution seemed to be there was resin dripping down the tubing. However, that can't be in my case. It happens after a fresh cleaning. I normally do a clean, let...
The Pax oven is continuously heating the herb, yes, but it's not releasing nearly as much vapor as when you inhale from it, so it's not "wasting" much herb. The amount of vapor production is minimal when you're not inhaling. That being said, the Pax is still not as good at herb conservation as...
That's the way it seems to me. I've made canna-oil on a few occasions in a saucepan on the stove.. But using the mason jar as a double boiler seems simply genius by decreasing the surface area, minimizing loss, and probably cutting way down on the smell. I look forward to trying it out. I think...
I've heard layering it in the middle of the herb works well. But frequent use needs heavy cleaning and can lead to malfunction since it's not designed for it.
A few pinches will definitely work. The FF will vape even the tiniest amounts.. But it seems to really shine when the bowl is filled to the top. Not packed down, just filled up to the top with a medium grind (which still doesn't take much.) It's ridiculously efficient.
The Pax does indeed require a bit more than the average bowl. I, like you, only smoked a small amount each time when I combusted so I was concerned about the amount. However, with the number of methods available to reduce the load size, I've actually been able to SAVE herb and still go at my...
Very good. I'll be working with 1-2oz, pretty sure I'll be doing in a saucepan. So the lid to the mason jar can stay on the whole time, except to stir it?
Whats a good water level to be maintained in the pan?
The inhale on the release is important. 3-5 seconds sounds good. I think of it like clearing the carb, theres plenty of residual heat to use, and its usually tasty.
I also notice a drop in visible vapor as the bowl goes on.. But I think that just means good extraction. FF can milk the herb...
The part about this that confuses me is that there's no mention of stirring. You're saying you can just mix up the canna-oil and let it sit in the crock pot for 9 hours without stirring? Ive read different crock pot methods, as well as the tried-and-true stovetop method, and stirring is one of...
