The button top on the battery needs to touch the allen bolt sticking out of the bottom of the EO cart. Touching it against the nut won't work. The threaded area is positive and the allen bolt is negative or vies versa. Mine worked fine without soilder if you wanted to test yours out. I did...

The updated Herc parts are only a new mouthpiece and heat shield. The V2 heater which was the main issue is still not out yet. I'm also looking foreword to the V2. I have a Persei I'm not using right now. There is not enough time in the day for me to medicate effectively with the cartridges.
