I would think a salad would soak up the oil and keep it safe from travelling up to the mouthpiece. Did you use a low setting?
The oven sides are all square, and not tapered? I'm not in front of mine at the moment. Neat idea to have a plunger that fits perfectly.
Jamband, I have a complaint...
I made the Dude's variety of paper clip tool under the mouthpiece. Bent end just shy of 3/8" .
Vapinghole, you're intriguing me with what you add to the normal flower. Do you ever add oil also?
I just push a bunch into the oven to create a depression in the oven. Then tap the test of the herb from the well into this depression. Then pack again and done.
No kidding! That's spectacular!
Dude, do you find the new mouthpiece just different, or is it now less elegant? Giraffe commented that he liked the feel better before. Not sure if someone who never operated either unit would give much of a hoot either way, but my new mouthpiece won't be here...
Paka, I wouldn't say you are a Pax hater. More like a MFLB lover. I would say that you don't always appear to be fully objective. Can't knock a guy for loving his vape, but let's face it. You've been the single biggest cheerleader Magic Flight has, and I personally have to factor that in when I...
The Pax is very easy to load. The oven is in the bottom of a larger "well" so if herb spills out of the oven, it's still in the well. This also makes it fast to stir since you can stir the contents of the oven out into the well, then pack back in the oven. Really very fast and all contained.
Having used both Pax and LB, I say this:
The LB with batts is disappointing. No balls. That's the reason I bought the Pax.
The LB with the PA rocks, and is my go-to for some gourmet vaping. If I had a $1000 bud, I would enjoy it on the LB with PA.
The Pax (for me) is used when I'm...
Please don't let me get in the way of any creative mod juices!
I have to make a Pax tool. I think I'll make one like the Dude showed us. I like the point. I may also try hammering a widened, flat edge on one end for scraping / moving. File it so it's not sharp.
I would agree with Vape World. They have their act together.
They will only sell you a box with a Pax in it. They have no ability to exchange parts. No sense asking for the "new" one. They're all new.
I would suggest you order the Pax, and then go to Ploom, chat with them and ask for the new...
I hope no one takes this the wrong way, but what is the significance of the dispersion pattern of the LED indicator? Photoshopped marketing or not, who cares?
After two days of using the Pax, I'm sold.
If at home, I'm using the MFLB with PA. Likely no more MFLB battery use for me (even with my Powerex batts), as they don't have enough juice unless the herb is very dry and very finely ground. For home, I like the small hit potential. More of a...
I was surprised at how quickly the oven cooled. One little inhale after you turn it off and I'm thinking that's about it. Of course the oven isn't airtight, so that would still be a liability
You might consider re-hydrating a bit. Some citrus peel is a slow release source of water. Boveda packs are sold to maintain cigar humidor humidity levels. I used them once maybe 5 years ago to rehydrate some super dry material. The process works, and for this process with Pax, I wouldn't think...
