Pros: No longer gets unbearably hot; Heats up much quicker; Ticking noise is quieter
Cons: Serial number is no longer in the very low digits; Font changed from serif to sans serif (I prefer the original font)
Conclusion: function > aesthetics x 1000

Can someone confirm for me that the rear end of the hopper is NOT supposed to get hot? I have an early TI version and if if I am holding the rear end in a fist, after 2 consecutive hits, the hopper nears uncomfortably hot.

The internal are very basic. If you're not worried about voiding warranty, I would open the bottom, disconnect the wires, cut and strip the cord below the damage, and reconnect. Perhaps invest in the OEM cord strain relief or rig something up at your local hardware store?
I've been on this for the last few days. The controls are clunky and it is very buggy, but I absolutely love the game. I hear Breaking Point mod for Arma 3 is a good game as well.
