Yeah, it takes a little tinkering to get just the right setting on da Buddha. I burned a few loads right off the bat as well. It's capable of running WAY hotter than it needs to in order to vaporize correctly, and that's a good thing. Lots of headroom for different kinds of loads.
What bat you use is somewhat less important that when you use them. If you yank a bat out of the charger and start using it immediately you're going to get a different power level than if you let it sit off the charger for a few hours first. The main difference between Powerex 2700s and the bats...
A water attachment will be cool. I'll try it for sure. Personally, I use the feel of the heat of the load to figure out how hard or soft to pull, but I could probably change my technique to accommodate such an adapter.
I may have to revise my comment about the MFLB not being particularly suited to use in a group situation. I was at a party last night where I trenched everyone heavily and only two out of about a dozen people had any trouble figuring out the correct technique. I'd say it only took about one time...
I get more visible vapor out of it than my Iolite and less than my Da Buddha. But it takes longer to vape the same amount in the Iolite and shorter in Da Budah.
I get nice visible vapor out of the MFLB. It just takes a little more work to get all the vapor out of a load than with Da Buddha...
I dunno. There's some learning curve with the Iolite. You have to get the bowl load just right, you have to figure out your grind. There's the whole issue of dealing with the butane and of course there's draw technique. Granted, the draw is easier to get a handle on than most other non-baloon...
I'm not sure grinding it THAT fine is necessary. You want it fine, but not keif fine. Magic Flight recommends grinding it fine enough to pass through a standard window screen.
Based on my limited experience with the box, that sounds right. I've been getting better hits and more consistent burn since switching to a much finer grind and being very careful to fully shake the box up between hits. Also, I find that using the box in "native mode" allows me to regulate the...
I own an Iolite and up until the day that I bought my MFLB it would have rated in my top three. The bottom line for me is that the Magic Flight bests the Iolite in most areas.
1) Da Buddha - it's the work horse. Excellent hits every time and it's built like a tank.
2) Magic Flight Launch Box - I've had mine for only a couple of days and already loving everything about it.
3) Extreme Q - the preferred unit for group situations. Experienced vapers get the hang...
Yeah, don't get me wrong. I've had all the little niggles people have with the Iolite, but I still like it. In fact, I think mine has performed better than what some report. It's a pretty swell little unit. I'm very curious to see what they did with the WHSPR though...
Mainly what you'll find with these batteries is a difference in how long they last, not in how much power they output under load. They're designed to discharge under load at a certain rate. The mAH ratings are about how long they'll output power.
Personally, I think quick chargers (the 15...
Got mine today and banged through my inaugural trench. I'm very impressed. It works great for me right out of the box. I used fairly fine ground material, the mouth/nose breathing technique after a 3-5 second heat up and got a series of about five pretty serious hits. Nice vapor production...
Looks like that would work fine. Cut sections of bicycle tube make great rubber bands for many situations. When I get my MFLB tomorrow I'll be cutting some for use with it myself.
