I asked if he'd make something like the Lotus VaporScope and sent him a bunch of pictures but haven't heard back yet.
In the meantime, I've come up with a new configuration for my TM's titanium stem. When I'm at home I use an OGB j-hook but for travel I like the durability of the metal stem...
Chosty has shipped the silicone mouthpieces I ordered (https://fuckcombustion.com/threads/hopper-io.46246/post-1688200) and I'm pleased with their quick response. I didn't know where I was going to find them!
With the OGB and Lotus Vaporscope j-hooks I hold the glass in my right hand and press the button with my left thumb. Feels pretty natural. I seldom use the TM without glass but when I do, holding it in my right and with the mouthpiece toward my body I use my middle finger without any problem.
Haha – exactly! I can't even estimate how many times I've started a new bowl vowing to keep count of every hit and forgetting around three or four. Then I discovered the method you use and finally mastered "higher" mathematics!
That's what I really like about the Lotus VaporScope (a discontinued vertical j-hook) – you can look right at the vapor production as you're inhaling. There's a balance between a wide open flow and some degree of resistance; when it's right, you definitely know it.
It was mentioned a while back that the TM1 (in its TM1½ incarnation) will continue to be sold at a lower price, giving people a less expensive option if desired. I do not know if this is true but it would make sense.
I've found that they last a long time. I've been using the same one for months. For cleaning, I put the basket in a shot glass with some isopropyl alcohol, cover it with my palm, and shake. Vape screens last longer than combustion screens which get filled with tar and soot. Treat them gently...
Since the TM is so versatile, it really depends on your preferred method of use. For instance, I use mine upside-down with a j-hook in my living room and someone else is toting a TM in his front pocket and taking quick, stealthy hits in a public space. But here are a few general suggestions...
A brave and bold move, undertaken for the sake of science!
I mentioned this a while back and someone else went as far as to determine that the OG would turn on with the TM2 battery cap but he hesitated to actually try to vape with it.
I nearly always use a j-hook and have found it cool enough to use with just a basket screen. But when my TM2 arrived I decided to try it with the titanium stem and titanium balls in the CU (instead of the nuts and washers) and I was really impressed with the smoothness and coolness of the...
I mentioned, a couple of pages ago, that I'd like to see TM make those knurled battery doors for the OGTM. I thought it might need to be redesigned because of the switched polarity – so it works in the OGTM as is? I wonder if they'll offer them as upgrades for TM1 and TM½?
I don't think you'd have a problem with pearls and rubies as I don't think they expand that much. I'm using titanium balls and what I've done is take the bolt out of the unit, slide one up toward the mouthpiece end, pour the balls in, then put the second one in. The only hassle is that the...
