You can always do as I have done and remove the jar section in the middle that holds the screen. That makes it the same as the Vape Gr8tr but you will still have the coarse grinding plate that is included with the jar versions but not the Vape version. Without the jar section it is not much...

What does freezing the grinder do? When do you freeze it? If there is ground herb inside doesn't freezing result in condensation?

Good question. I too wonder if my unit is defective or if it's a design issue. Since most people here have not had this issue hopefully the replacement unit will not unscrew with use.
