So, the question is, if you blocked the hole with a metal screen, would a quartz banger work for vaporizing ground flower too, done exactly the same way as shown here?
THIS!!!
And now I'm wondering if ceramic would be an option, and if so whether someone could simply ("simply") design and 3D print one.
I already have this, by the way. The bowl for the Mobius Flower Pot vaporizer is a large glass bowl with a metal screen that fits tightly. Unfortunately, the...
Right. I leave my screen in the metal bowl 100% of the time. When I need to clean it, I drop the whole bowl assembly in a little dish of 99% ISO and let sit for a couple hours or overnight. Then, just rinse it out. I haven't taken the screen out of my bowl in nearly a year, but I clean it often.
It's like, functionally I like the metal bowl -- it's a little bigger, easier to stir the material, very little gets into the pipe with the double-weave screen. But aesthetially, I much prefer the glass bowl. It's quieter than metal-on-metal (sound matters to me), it looks nicer, and I can put...
Rather been liking the glass bowls for the Weedeater. BUT, the small provided screens fall out easily, and I may try trimming one of the titanium double weave screens to fit tightly. The glass screen's holes without a metal screen are too big (too much material falls through) and the thickness...
I keep going back and forth with the Weedeater between water and no water. Spent a few days using it with the Mobius Binary matrix and water, then returned to my regular use in a smaller dry pipe (the Mobius Nuc). Over and over again, I'm getting noticeably better effects without water. It...
On the scoop/tool tip, I've been incredibly pleased with this 3D printed scoop/poker. My main vape tool!

Have been thinking about this so much. This is one of the most concise, easy-to-grasp explanations of the physics of vaping...
I too have been loving it dry, but wanting it cooler. Right now I'm running my WE at 580 through a dry SOL ashcatcher then into a regular glass bong. This dual-chamber setup provides enough time and contact with glass to cool it nicely. (Photos: https://www.instagram.com/p/B3Hn_g1n5oh/)
But...
Question about the NewVape PID/controller: I have it set at 580 degrees. When I turn it on, it goes up to about 612, then down to about 560. Eventually it hovers closer to 580, but still fluctuates above and below that point quite a bit. Is this normal?
More low-temp adventures with the Weedeater: Continuing to experiment with gentle, slow DRY hits. Using the Mobius Nuc dry, I now have the temp set at just 575. It's awesome. Almost no coughing. With a super gentle and super slow draw the weed still gets nice and browned and I get just as stoned...
I've thought about it before, but never tried one. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll see how it shapes up!
I'm actually now down to about 585 on the WE and if I simply draw slow enough, still getting nice clouds of vapor with even less coughing. It's like the secret, stealth mode of this...
Lately, I've been *delighted* at the effects of my WE at only 600, but through a small dry pipe. I inhale very very gently, can see the clouds of vapor roiling around in the pipe, and the temp is nice and low. I'm as happy or happier with the effects of this technique than with using the larger...
Ah, yeah, not quite my goal. I had one of those Bates/Worm external-arm versions and liked it, but like I said, it was so noisy I gave it away (to my son, actually). I'm really interested in a low-tech way to easily have a water-free chilled vapor path.
Are you suggesting freezing a rattle can with water in it? Wouldn't that break the glass? I used to have one, was noisy AF and I gave it away, but that was before I discovered vaping flower.
Ever since I saw a post here last week about using the Weedeater with *no* water, I've been experimenting. A long time ago the Arizer company discouraged me from buying a "water tool" for the Solo II, saying they felt it decreased the effect. I've used that vape a bunch with and without water...
