I think a longer stem would be great. Here is a SDS Frankenstein's Bastard that he made me. George would give him some of his dynavap 2nds. Notice the Dynavap stamp at the mouthpiece. This is one of my favorites for traveling.

I prefer to use a 1/4" 2-3 foot silicone hose with a glass mouthpiece. Toss it away and put on a new hose. I use to get mine from delta3d. Try it out, big difference.
