@Jill NYC
I know this may sound like a cliché "tech support" question, but have you tried different micro-USB cables and/or charger units? I've had similar issues with other electronic gizmos, and you'd be surprised how much a bad cable or improper charger output can affect things.
I hope you...

Awesome thread and service you're providing @JCat!
I will have to get one of these from you in the near future. I just picked up a new (to me) Crafty that had 40 min. of use, but I found I can only get through 3.5-4 full sessions (5 min./ea. @ 380°- 395°F) before it dies. I guess that's to be...
It will take me a bit to (fully) convert to vaping only, mainly due to time/convenience.
Once I have all my accoutrement to go with my Crafty and get in the habit of keeping it charged-up, I think I will start vaping more frequently than smoking. I've found that using the S&B Dosing Caps make...
Thank you @bizwaxzion. That makes sense about removing the screen (manually) and being left with a channel or uneven wall in-place of where it used to be. I guess I will see how it goes with the 4 pc. and either adapt to collecting the kief, or replace it with a true 3 pc. design.
Either way...
Very helpful GIF. I agree that the tooth design on the SCS seems most-efficient, with 2-points of contacts on each surface with the least risk of pulverizing the herb (versus grinding it).
Damn - very thorough video. Took me a while to get through the whole thing (and still get some work done)...
Thank you for the recommendation @Vitolo! I will check those out and try to convince myself to pony up a few more bucks for a better product.
I'm liking the SC Shredder (3-piece). Seems like exactly what I'm looking for, simple and reliable with an ample catch compartment and nice machining...
I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around all the options for grinders.
I have a (very cheap) acrylic one right now and I am not a fan: no holes for the ground herb to fall through, uneven grind, messy collection, and I wish the top/bottom compartments would thread together or connect...
Right now, I have some Jesus OG (hybrid), Wedding Cake (hybrid) and some homegrown Blueberry (Indica) from a buddy.
My (all-time) favorite strain is ATF (Alaskan Thunderfuck). Such a good strain for being focused and productive if you have projects to get done.
That was definitely the case here - the guy I got it from was super generous and honest.
I guess I was just prepared for the worst and trying not go get my hopes up. I also did quite a bit of research beforehand to make sure it was not potentially a counterfeit unit (like the fake 'Mightys'...
Thank you - I'm stoked on it! :D
Thanks Jill! I will give that a shot. I started out pretty high (well, yes, but no pun intended ;)) between 380°F-395°F and it wasn't too harsh, but I did have some surprises that hit way harder than anticipated. Lotsa variables in play to dial it in, and every...
This is the (original) Crafty but it has been hitting like a champ, so far. Still dialing-in the best temp settings, best strains to vape and how fine to grind it. Pretty much fool-proof though - using the dosing caps keeps it super clean and even toasting all the way through.
I need to keep my...
Just picked-up my first "Dry Herb" vape last night - I've been a classic "combustion smoker" for the last 20+ years. I've used tabletop box vapes in the past and always loved how clean and pure the experience was, but the convenience of smoking a bowl was ingrained in me for years.
I had been...
