Hopefully not too dumb of a question.. I've been going through the thread and it seems that the V3 is the latest iteration, is this correct? Is this one finally working? I got an open box one for cheap, and if I can just buy the top cap and turn it into an OK vaporizer it would be awesome...

It's an xbox 360 power supply. It's 12V an about ~14amps, the specs change quite a bit between xbox models. I need to check how much is pulling right now as I have been making small changes to the coil. The gasket on the other side of the wood is 3d printed PLA. Is mostly to guide the glass tube...

Dumb question... how normal is for my induction heater to get very warm (bordering hot) after several cycles of ~10 seconds? I tried with a 12v 30amp power supply and a 12v 3amp as well.

Correct, that's how it works. I know some people don't like putting it apart, but that's the only way to make it fit.

My new project, yeah I know I haven't "finished" the previous design for the tin, but it is good enough so decided to explore more options. Also, the vapcap is supposed to be stored in 2 parts, body and SS tip.

This is awesome! some questions... how do you heat it? (how you spin it?) what is the material for the vapcap adapter, and did you made it? This would be perfect for an induction heater.

Has anyone used an xbox 360 power supply for their induction heater? It seems to provide 12v, and 14~16 amps based on version, they are pretty reliable and safety tested. And these days you can buy the whole xbox for about ~$30, so there might be some cheap supplies around...
