I don't have a hotspot but have you tried to just turn the mouthpiece 25degrees in between the hits that should also help.

I use mine all the time with 70 preheat and 65 for 12 sec no problems at all

It has nothing to do with the material just the thicker twisted coils.

If you draw fast enough but i would suggest to open the airflow fully for the best experience between 60-65w. And I hope you use the twisted coils the standard kanthal are ppl not suited for 60w up

There is no recommendation because all do work of they can put out enough W. It is not only good for temp control with arctic fox you can set up specific preheat and heat separate. I use 3sec 70w preheat and 12 sec @65W with my glow 18
