Well, I just ordered 3 feet of tubing and a plain glass mouthpiece from 7th Floor. All less than half of what just the tubing would have cost from US Plastics. I'm thinking that if I really find it hard to clean, I can always buy more tubing later. I wanted a cheap way to experiment with...
Aha! Beat me to it, I see! Yeah I was wondering why it was opaque one place and totally clear in another. *sigh* It really sounds like the US Plastics stuff is the way to go, but the extra cost really has me balking. That, along with the ridiculousness of ordering only a $5 glass mouthpiece...
I thought that's what Tygon was...or is Tygon a brand? Mayhaps I'm a bit confused.
EDIT: Ah, I see. A bit more research shows me that Tygon is simply a specific manufacturer. The specific kind Hennessey linked to is #3350, and the variety I linked to above is #3603. Not sure what the...
Hm, well, thanks for all the input, guys. I have found another source of Tygon tubing, this one significantly cheaper than US Plastics! Apparently Tygon tubing is also desirable for use in CPU cooling setups, given its flexibility, operating temperature range and permeability. Now, I talked to...
I don't doubt the quality of the plastics, but the price and quantity in which I'd have to buy is pretty off-putting. I don't want 10+ feet of tubing, nor do I want to put ~30 bucks into an accessory for a $150 vape...
And as far as a mouthpiece goes, I just figured that hitting straight off...
Well, it turns out they do, but luckily the minimum is $5. However, the tubing I'd need is only sold in 10-foot intervals, so that's the least I could buy, and it would come out to way more than the cost of tubing from 7th floor + a mouthpiece....
Tom, do you know for sure if the stuff Wicked...
Word, well, then, good deal! Sounds like it's worth the extra cost then! I'll get on ordering some, tomorrow, and pick myself out a nice glass mouthpiece. I'm excited! Thanks again for all the help, folks! :)
Alright, what makes it better? I assumed the ones that are sold with the SSV are pretty decent, and if I get one from them I can get a glass mouthpiece that I know will fit the tubing. It is somewhat more expensive, however, at $3.27/foot.
Thanks, guys. I'll probably end up ordering some from 7th floor, and may go ahead and get a mouthpiece at the same time. Hoping to purchase an SSV at some point down the line, so I suppose I'll be killing 2 birds with one stone!
Hey, got a quick question for all my fellow PD owners out there. (or some of them, at least) I've read in the now-massive PD thread about folks using lengths of tubing to get a longer air path from the vapor tube to their mouth, running the tube through water, etc. However, I don't remember...
Yup yup. I'd go with Frickr's suggestion of keeping your stash, vapor tubes, etc in a secure spot (whether that's a safe or not is up to you.) They inspect our rooms over breaks, and I've left my PD plugged in on my desk with no problem.
Definitely +1 to this. I keep mine next to/behind some books on my desk, and the tubes out of sight in a drawer. The PD is very low-key, but still could easily attract odd looks or suspicion. I also usually keep the aromatherapy cup in it, with or without anything in it, on top of the PD when...
ABSOLUTELY. Do it. I wouldn't smoke any other way in a dorm, to tell you the truth. I have friends that use a pipe, open the window, turn on a fan and spray Febreeze. All of that gets real old around January in Michigan - gotta love the PD.
AofZ, I believe that would only work with smoke...
Cannot agree enough. Vapor smell seems to dissipate very quickly, especially if one cracks a window or door. I have literally been in the same room with others, and not had them notice I was puffing away on the PD. That said, I wouldn't take this to an extreme - anyone will smell vapor if you...
Just to add to the good vibes here, I'm yet another satisfied PD user! Bought mine in mid-October, and have used it almost daily since. Most excellent customer service I've ever experienced (both Tom and Pam are so responsive to emails, and friendly!) Simply love the ability to so accurately...
