    The Wim Hof Method Thread

i watched that Joe Rogan interview and bought the Kindle of Nestor's book. i would add an anecdote from my experience … i developed adult onset asthma about 20 years ago. Johns Hopkins said i should take Advair for-fucking-ever. i don't do meds (yet, but at 72, who knows what's coming). What...

    COVID-19 News

very few reports of the rapid mutation rate of the covid-19 … the less spread, the less the mutations will be. covid-19 is certainly an interesting model for the biohackers of the world.

Bump this thread if you're VAPED now!

trying to get organized, in my mind and on the PC, to get a new Bud Toaster thread started … to continue the saga into production (maybe) … just finished a vial of Blue Dream … bump

    Important Announcement

i kinda like "NewFC.com" as the domain name, which has been tossed around a bit. Also, is there a forum feature where you can extract/view just the images from a thread? with a link to the posts?

The Bud Toaster - (currently: Model 14, version 3)

i only have a 300 watt spindle - just not suitable. the joiner is infinitely faster. thank-you for the suggestion.

The Bud Toaster - (currently: Model 14, version 3)

theoretically, yes, however, it would take a long time. kind of like 3d printing, which takes a long time to create things. what i am looking for is a planer/joiner to get the speed necessary to do a thousand in a reasonable amount of time. and a belt sander to take off the final 1/32" at 400...

The Bud Toaster - (currently: Model 14, version 3)

finally feeling comfortable with the cnc router - but still figuring out how to best hold the cube down to the work surface - damaged 2 cubes when the spindle shifted them sideways and gouged the surface. milling the cover disk is working fine: outside of the disk: new wording, better...

What materials are considered safe to be used as a heating element?

materials: borosilicate glass tube for heater oven, nichrome 80 ribbon for heater, thin stainless steel sheet for heat shield. airflow is entirely within glass.

    Vape-Safe thermal insulators

this is what i use. 1/8" air-gap between a stainless steel sheet (0.012" thickness) heat shield and the wood body (a 2" cube) of the vape. the heat shield is a 1 1/4" cylinder surrounding the 5/8" diameter heater coil. so two air-gaps. there is no airflow inside the cube. i can run the...

    Anyone struggling to "fuck combustion"?

yes, me too. my wife has a joint+ziti+bic preference despite having access to the full Bud Toaster experience, a really nice all glass vaporizer experience if i say so myself - keeps me satisfied. part of it is having to wait a full 2 minutes for the first hit after turning it on - the bic is...

    Anyone struggling to "fuck combustion"?

yes! i think cardio has a beneficial effect on clearing the receptors for the next day's round of vaporizing. for me, 30 minutes of aerobics first thing in the morning on a calorie deficit, then several oz of tree nuts, and then my first hits of the day. sublime.

made a little progress today, working out all the gcode for the text and positioning and excel spreadsheet to regenerate the gcode when position changes. still a work in progress: i think i need to try playing with the feeds (velocity of cutter over the material) and speeds (rpm of cutter)...

The Bud Toaster - (currently: Model 14, version 3)

well, we'll see about that ... anyway, i greatly appreciate your support and encouragement. so, a little bit of progress today on the text engraving task: the text is 1/8" tall, engraving is 0.04" deep. i'll see if i can finish the text gcode tonight

The Bud Toaster - (currently: Model 14, version 3)

mastering the machine … working on the gcode ... one milling task that always took a long ass time was engraving the bottom cover to fit over the pcb - that is, remove from 1/16" to 3/16" over the components that stick up on the pcb: so i programmed a gcode generator for making rectangular...

very productive day with the 3040Z-DQ cnc router: and i didn't snap off any bits!!! the area the bit can reach is just under 12" x 16" (thus the 3040 designation - for mm). there is a controller: which uses the LPT port of the pc as the communication channel: this particular LPT adapter...

    The Wim Hof Method Thread

no, not yet. i may work up to that (if it doesn't cause Opus Dei flashbacks). i see the WHM as being "simply" hyperventilation + stressor to stimulate the immune system. i want to work with the holding-the-breath as the stressor for a while. i need to be more consistent with my meditation -...

The Bud Toaster - (currently: Model 14, version 3)

no, the small bits don't fall through the bottom, but some do get sucked into the draw tube, and stick to the inside of the tube. some vapor condensation happens (which is what the bits stick to). a single full-size paper towel is rolled up and used to swab out the draw tube after a session...

okay, a little further into the new adventure ... i ordered the CNC3040Z-DQ on 3/5 and got it about a week later … and i had been wondering why the Alibaba listing has "DIY" as part of the description. well. the reason is that there is virtually no instructions. do it your own damn self...

now up to 70 seconds on the holding after last (30th) exhale - at which point i feel like i'm suffocating and then i take the inhale for last retention - about 40 to 60 seconds. i do three cycles with about 30 seconds between. my 30 minutes on the NordicTrack mellows me out for the day, and...

    The Wim Hof Method Thread

i like it so far. kind of subtle but worth pursuing. when i started i could only hold my breath for 30 seconds … i'm up to 70 seconds now. very interesting feeling when the adrenaline kicks in at the end of the hold. i am very curious to see how it progresses.
