I do not tamp the load at all, sprinkle fill and tap the side of the bowl to settle the sprinkle into the bowl. The Ruffu is convection heavy and likes you to pull not sip to get good vapor, especially at the start of a sesh as you heat soak the load vapor is produced more easily.
