Don't literally pack the oven as tight as you can. Are you stirring the load at all? Are you absolutely sure that the screen is not flat against the vapor tube? Are you using properly cured product? Are you giving the oven a chance to produce more vapor between hits? With a packed oven...

I've been using one pen I got from Zainy, the other is pristine and hasn't been used yet. I havent had a single issue with any of the oils I've used, but I will never put herb in there. The price on a set has been dropped to like $37 and they are now available in black. I ordered two more sets...

Yes, my ceramic mouthpiece filter stays in place, but I found the spring was more trouble than it was worth and without the spring the plate wasn't necessary. I was having a problem with a lot of wax sticking to the spring and never making its was back down toward the coil.

Since day one I haven't had a spring in there. I toss a chunk of wax right on the coil and go to town.

I don't like that spring or screen type piece that holds the spring. I take them right out. Useless as far as I'm concerned.

I've got two pieces from Sam at GBD so I'm going to recommend your 4th choice. One of my pieces has a Showerhead perc and it is very well done. For $130 I think you'd be getting one hell of a sturdy and well made bubbler.

You could always ask for tweaks to the design like bending the neck of the stem away at more of an angle to assure clearance.
