Looking at the image you show, I see a post. It is inside the glass, so not clearly visible. Without the post, the shovelhead bowl would be balanced precariously on the bubbler.

I'm with you there... but in defense of "necessity being the Mother"...... I became adept at aiming all dabs to the bottom. We all have that special tool, that let's us get it in there and hit bottom. The target is at very least wide enough for this patient with spasticity to hit it on the spot.
