That mark is definitely from the molding process. It is on the side of the unit. Yes, there is a soft silicone buffer right below the GonG joint. You and I are in the same exact boat, my friend. We are both coming from the LSV to the EVO and having the same realizations.

2400 Celsius?! Are you sure that's right? Can you post a product link? I think you're talking about exhaust epoxy which is usually rated up to 2400 degrees Farenheit. I would love to be wrong though because that would be some awesome stuff.

If you add a domed EQ screen to the end of your wand you encapsulate the material within the GonG. By doing this you don't have to worry about any material falling out of the wand and on to your HC screen. Now, you can use your LSV at any angle.

It'll always come down to personal preference. I had both and sold my Solo. They offer two different experiences. I did not prefer the Solo to the Pax.
