    next generation e-nails?

Nice! Been playing with the Liger v2 w/ SiC since last Friday and it's definitely giving the SiC halo a run for it's money.

    next generation e-nails?

Glad you said something. I've been feeling a bit trollish in this thread due to addressing all the poor/misinformation so I wasn't going to say anything but those magic erasers contain formaldehyde. :o I used to use them for all sorts of cleaning until I read an article about their toxicity.

    next generation e-nails?

Yeah it probably would prevent further chipping. I'm not a fan of that method of assembly as the heater retainer doesn't cover the entire base of the dish, though. Hopefully I'll be using 710 heating elements instead of flat coils in the near future which should also prevent any more chipping...

Mine has chipped along the bottom edge, too. I make sure and line the chip up with the point where the flat coil unwinds because the heating element bulges up a bit there as it changes from flat to round which is what caused the chip in the first place. No more chips since.

Yeah ir guns aren't that great for this purpose.

Must be the Auber coil. My SiC halos and quartz halos both work on my slim series bases with d-nail, high5 and hyman flat coils but my flat coil from domeless.com is too thick. I've come to the conclusion that the 710 whip heaters work the best with the halo dishes as they contact the entire...

    next generation e-nails?

I like the turtle banger but don't break glass often so I'm not really worried about the durability. It's quartz, though, so it will break very easily. Quality is there ... some decent looking welds and looks like the joint was ground in house. I'm kind of curious who makes the quartz for...

    Auber Enail Discussion

I use the Amazon one you linked to. Seems to work fine when comparing temps between it and 2 ir temp guns. The nail will be around about 100 F cooler than the set temp.

    Auber Enail Discussion

It's easy to figure it out. K type thermometers are cheap and that's all you need to dial it in. Just divide the set temp of your box by the actual temp of your nail and you have your PSL.

To get the flat coil to fit with the heater retainer in place you need to really press the pieces together as you screw the nut on otherwise it seems like the threaded part isn't long enough. And make sure the heater retainer is screwed all the way down and not getting hung up on any burrs.

The high5 coils are wired differently than Auber units so the coils aren't compatible. You could get the flat coil off amazon but it comes from china so it would take a couple weeks to be delivered.

    Auber Enail Discussion

My unit wouldn't get to high temps either so I contacted Auber and they instructed me to follow those steps and it worked. A google search turns up nothing but Auber says it's the "integration band". :peace:

    Auber Enail Discussion

Under access code 177 change IEG to 100 and your unit should work properly at high temperatures. You'll also want to change your IEG to 100 if you're having problems reaching high temps for cleaning. Also, changing the I value from 60 to 30 while keeping the P value at 125 helps to get up to...

    next generation e-nails?

I've found that these hybrid titanium nails add some weird (metallic?) taste to dabs as they oxidize. After they get to the point that they wont really oxidize anymore I can't taste it anymore. Maybe you're smelling the same thing and it'll go away after the heat oxidizes the titanium as much...

    next generation e-nails?

Yeah I've noticed that without the heater retainer in place the glass joint gets quite a bit hotter than with the heater retainer in place. The nail should screw together with the heater retainer in there if you really press it all together when you're screwing the retaining nut on. Cheap drop...

They'll work with any of the Auber units except the rdk 150 and they should work when paired with the correct nail. I haven't ordered through this Amazon vendor yet but his coils look identical to the coils I've gotten from hyman that work great.

Just wanted to point out that there are fair priced coils wired for D-Nail and Auber control units on Amazon Prime. 16mm and 20mm Looks like they're doing flat coils but they ship from China. Hopefully they'll stock them as prime items soon too. :peace:

The only thing you'll need is a dabber. I prefer to use glass dabbers with the 710 whip dab cap as they plug the carb hole nicely which helps decrease atmospheric pressure in the dish and thickens vapor production. Plus then you're using a full glass/ceramic setup. I just got my RDK 300 less...

    next generation e-nails?

The high 5 and auber are both made in China. The high5 functions better out of the box than the Auber imo but if you don't mind doing a little tuning the Auber will perform on par. The Auber has a more user friendly layout and is very simple to use but the rdk 200 comes with a super short cord...

They must've recently realized that it works better without the big washer in there, too. It's still listed as a heater retainer on the d nail site. http://www.d-nail.com/nails/ti/slim-series-heater-retainer Works awesome as a heater retainer on the HE Infiniti base instead of the small dish.
