Ok, I'm loving my new silicone tubing, but it is starting to smell really potent. The standard EQ tubing didn't do this (this breathes). Will swishing some salt / iso (maybe applying heat?) alleviate this?

Has anyone used more extensive filtration than coffee filters? I've been used 2x unbleached, but I'm pretty sure they shed particles.

Mostly 200C, but I crank it to 210 / 230 for my last few hits (4-5 pulls (lungful clouds)/ regrind / 3-4 pulls .1-.2 elbow packs) I really need to force myself to lower my bowl size.

I'm also having a hard time making the tuff bowl screen fit snug. It keeps moving when I hit it, which is making me nervous.

So...I just got my tuff bowl and I let it heat up at 260 for a while. There is a smell coming from near the bottom of it. It's probably just heated silicone (didn't smell like burning at all) but I wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one.

I got my Extreme Q from eBay and it has a warranty (I wanna say I paid $140 or so).

If you have complaints with how your Q is hitting then you should only be elbow packing (a clean screen is also critical). Here is my process: Preheat Q + Cyclone + Elbow for at least 15m @ 210C. Grind .05-.2g with SCS and dump onto plastic sheet. Pull elbow off of Q and use it to suck up...

Maybe your elbow filter could use a cleaning? I know when I switch a clean filter in I get less draw resistance.

You could also soak in everclear and drink or use the mix for green dragon (I do this often).

I always use salt / iso and grind, then rinse with hot water and air dry. I just did this to my virgin SCS medium 2pc that just arrived. I will be testing it out shortly!
