That’s because it’s the surface area that’s important, not mass. Mass is important on unplugged vapes. If you want to see how little mass actually matters, try aluminum beads.

Yeah that’s the classic counter current flow the logs use, I had a design like that too, but you can’t machine that blind turn. The trade off with my design is you get direct conduction contact between the cartridge heater and the heat exchanger, which is theoretically superior in efficiency...

Valid and appropriate questions! Cartridge heater expansion would depend on the sheath material of the heater, some are SS, others are different alloys. I was looking last night and most in the 1/4” size come in at 1” long for the shortest length, which would add an extra 5mm to the drawing...

    Rosin Technique....Easy DIY Solventless

You might be interested in some of the Wine Cooler modifications people have done to do live rosin without a freeze dryer. I’ve seen a few vids on YouTube about it, but my buddy has a freeze dryer so I haven’t tried it. I agree with everything you said about hash rosin + !!

🤔🤔🤔 I’m liking it a lot! There’s a little inspiration from a bunch of stuff all nestled in there! I do think it could be milled from solid boro rod! 🥶 Biggest complication I see in the machining process is that the part would have to be flipped over to drill the isolated heater hole. That...

Its just easy marketing that works for the demographic who buys those black market edibles. No licensed brand is doing stuff like that (anymore 😂 ) Those are all packaging from Alibaba and DHgate - that’s why I wish this community would stop ordering bongs and stuff from there which only serves...

New to vaping - How is this for a starter setup?

IDK, my Arizer Air has kinda become my guilty pleasure vape, and I’m used to some pretty powerful convection hitters. I wouldn't discount it completely, when realistically, the Solo has converted more people to vaping than probably any device listed here. I finally realized I was using it...

    Phase3 Vaporizers

I mean some of them are considered biocompatible for implantation, which is way more extreme than our usage. Solubility tests are available for all those materials, AlN is the one that is slightly soluble in water which is kind of weird. Preset temperature hot keys would be pretty nice...

If the junk food companies really cared they’d throw a bunch of money at it til it goes away. That’s how Gorilla Glue #4 turned into GG4.

It's super interesting because they seem to have fast results too. I think a lot depends on how extreme the application is since ceramics are often used for very extreme environments. Perhaps the composition affects the process too? Dental ceramics are zirconia based IIRC. I'm not sure how the...

I thought we were basically already there from seeing what’s possible, but after talking to some advanced ceramics experts, 3D printing still needs quite a bit of progress to be made for technical ceramics (so I'm told.) It can be done but it’s pretty specialized and not really cost effective...

I notice that sometimes with my Vapor Wand, and as long as the temps aren't out of line the performance is extremely rapid. Especially with the 14mm version, as the adapter bowls are smaller, so its easier for the flower to sometimes touch the heater - especially with the way the herb expands...

QU4D CORE - Convection Cooling Stem for Dynavap

I appreciate that, @florduh ! 🎃 I wanted to add a few more comments regarding the design of this one. Aesthetically there’s definitely no complex geometric patterns, or fancy engravings - instead this one is based on a clean, smooth ceramic with a diamond polished finish, inspired by classic...

Roger that! And I agree, that’s what keeps me involved in this project, cause what I really want still doesn’t exist. Otherwise I’d just buy it! 🙃 Importance definitely being on facilitating rapid extraction, without coming in so hot the load burns/chars. It’s a delicate process to keep a wide...

    Tafée Bowle

If you’re in the US you can send the puck to Canada for under $20 using USPS First Class International. Obviously it would be nice for them to cover shipping, but it beats having a paper weight. It will still need a customs form, but they should be able to help with that.

    Phase3 Vaporizers

Well I seem to have lost communications with the European manufacturing company I was in correspondence with... strange because they seemed pretty excited about the project. This matters as only two companies are doing this technology, and they own the other one too. Perhaps the dreaded V word...
