    Adhesives, Insulation and Vape Safety

This from the guy that just said this.... Seriously, do you have any evidence of that? Seems like quite the charge. I just looked over mom's pictures again, and I'm pretty sure the hot silicon and flaking alumina fiber was what this thread is "really about". I also don't get the idea that the...

    Adhesives, Insulation and Vape Safety

I was really trying to answer your question Rick. I think the question is VERY important. I don't think I ever questioned the importance of the issue. I think it is UNSAFE to ASSUME that materials used in a BREATHING DEVICE are NOT going to make it into the user's system......especially when...

    Adhesives, Insulation and Vape Safety

Rick asks a serious question here, and I think it deserves a serious answer. How could these potentially bad (potentially cancerous) materials actually make their way to the user? The answer is simple -- the silicon or wood has to change in only the slightest way to then break the "seal". A...

(I just took apart my HI to check) The resistor does plug the hole, thus sealing it from below.....it screws right up in there. BUT you are correct that a small amount of wood is exposed to the hot air path right above the resistor's base. It seems incorrect to me to say that the hot air...

    Valloon by VripTech

Yo Egzoset, you can get an idea of the simple hot air and vapor path by looking at the parts images over on the VripTech Valloon ordering site. It's just two pieces -- the valve: and then the hot air intake:

I wrote my post first-thing too and was prolly a little, well, grumpy. Sorry for the 'tude darkrom and SM!

    Adhesives, Insulation and Vape Safety

If you look at the original pics and still want to use such a device to breathe out of every day, that's your call. We all have to make such calls. I just started using a Steinel heat gun for chrissakes!-- not even designed for vaping....but that's another story. I didn't mean to condescend to...

    Adhesives, Insulation and Vape Safety

I disagree darkrom.....maybe take a look back at mom's original pics and tell me again you wanna be breathing through that rig. Not to keep bringing it back to the HI.....but it seems to solve the problems we're talking about here. No silicon, Gorilla Glue, hot wood, solder, or plug exposed to...

    Adhesives, Insulation and Vape Safety

I thought stickstones was contrasting the HI and UD in terms of the resistor being in the airpath -- but I guess I misunderstood b/c of course the resistor is in the airpath in both. I think it's interesting to hear a manufacturer readily admit that there may be material safety concerns with...

    Adhesives, Insulation and Vape Safety

Back to materials, I wanted to quote stickstones from the 'dog thread: Is the resistor not in the airpath in the UD and PD? I thought it was in the airpath in pretty much all log vapes. But I'm genuinely asking.

There was absolutely nothing in the first post that "tried to devalue someone's character". You're making that up. And this is coming from someone who has disagreed with the mods on a number of occasions! As stickstones said, all you need to talk about here is materials and their safety --...

    Adhesives, Insulation and Vape Safety

Seems like her agenda is pretty clear: to make sure the materials used in log vapes that she and those she knows uses are safe. I too am surprised and not impressed by the internals of the 'dog -- but I don't have to worry about this cuz I don't and won't have one. We are very lucky to have a...

Couldn't agree more. These log vapes are so simple that they really should be user-disassemblable. I know of only one log vape manufacturer that makes his that way -- Alan. And having a log that doesn't use glue or silicon makes me really not want to go back.

    Valloon by VripTech

Turkey bags, go big or go home. I think most people on here know what they're getting into when it comes to bags and vapor quality. Not the best for sampling flavors IMO but a pretty good solution when you have people to medicate -- I'm thinking the Valloon is going to be my go-to setup when...

    Valloon by VripTech

Awesome glad to hear it Zingbuddah. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a Steinel + VCB + Valloon setup -- should be here end of the week! I doubt it'll become my daily driver but I'm looking forward to the "elephant gun of vapor" and to blowing big bags with the Valloon when I want to just...

    Discontinued herbalAire

Well it's been 6 weeks and the HA is still my daily driver. I tried to go back to Da Buddha for a while but I just love the big vape-bong hits I get with the herbalAire and a nice tube (DBV still a great whip vape IMO). I still keep the HI out for smaller sessions but that's really about it...

    Valloon by VripTech

So looks like the Valloon is back: I realize the Valloon has been around for years and has been talked about in a few threads here, but I didn't see a dedicated one...and since I had a few questions (see below) I figured I'd beat ShadowVape to the punch on creating the thread. It's worth...
