Compressed air might work, never tried it. To remove sanding dust before finishing, we use the shop vac. Hold the unit upside down as suggested. Car washes vacuums have pretty good suction if you don't own a shop vac. :2c:

There are tons of variables other than wood density. Even your altitude can effect vapor production. Technique, material, material dryness, grind consistency, room temp, drafts, Voltage... even the temp of the surface the unit is setting on ... Wood density will affect temps, but blaming all...
