Just got a FW9 as well. Hits hard! I also don’t mind the capsule system…it’s easier than it’s described. I’m usually done after a bowl but if hot swap is needed, probably better to get extra capsules. Going to continue testing…

Vented lid is not worth it. The heater cannot keep up with the extra air flow. A half pack lid is a better investment if you don't already have one

I’ve been eyeing the FW9 because I like hybrid heating and this seems like a powerful one. My only gripe is the handling of the hot ceramic after a bowl. Scale of 1-10, how annoying is it? How long does it take to heat up?

Nice, how long is the heat up? Is the consistency similar to using a torch?

The dura core patinas quite nicely to a light brown, instead of the dark charcoal that I’ve seen with the original coppercores

Works fine. Big flame. Just have to make sure the valve is closed tight because it leaks butane if not.

Consider getting the USA kit if available. It opens up more stem options outside of a WPA
