I hear ya. I'm pretty sure that the Maxx is my hardest hitting vape right now out of the Jr, FF2, Pax 2, and even my Mighty. Ok... maybe the Mighty hits as hard but it takes longer and is less efficient than my Brick. Just got an Omnivap and I'm still playing around with it. Time will tell. But...

I'm pretty conscious of not overdoing it, so I luckily haven't felt groggy the next day. I love it, not having to worry about a hangover! And I haven't really noticed it affecting my daily run, either. Another score.

I've read somewhere that if you actually take the battery out and put it back in (reseat it) that sometimes takes care of these exact issues. Worth a try. I haven't had these problems myself, thankfully. Good luck!
