Sounds like i got a little project to do. Im trying to justify extra weight in my pack for extra use. Was thinking of just charging my stock batteries with the solar panel but figured it wouldnt be regulated enough and could possibly damage them? How heavy would good battery pack be OF??

Well probably not all but i ran into pretty much the same problem you did and i found quite a few fairly easily that worked just fine. Not a perfect fit by anymeans but itll work and no "burnt" lips while you wait. I highly recommend against using it with no mouthpeice ;)
