Cleaning glass tips and using the microwave

I've considered using the microwave to dry, but never did do it yet. Will give it a try next time I clean my glass. Thanks for the info.

    Heavy hitters only (non/portable)

If you're going straight flower both the NV and EVO are comparable, and the one you prefer will depend on your preferences. Not going to go wrong with either. NV is all Ti, so not going to break. The EVO has a glass air path, but a SS herb basket. I never really noticed a taste difference...

    Heavy hitters only (non/portable)

The Flowerpot Vrod would be my recommendation for what you're seeking. Definitely a heavy hitter for sure with amazing flower performance and excellent concentrate performance. It will definitely outshine your Dynacoil for concentrate performance imo. For desktops, heat up times really only...

    Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

I'd definitely recommend sandwiching between bud in the ELB. You really only want to use full melt material in the nails. You theoretically could use some kief in the nail, but it would be a big mess and the taste wouldn't be great.

    710 coils

@LesPlenty Like @biohacker I normally shoot for a floor temp in the low 400s with my ruby insert, roughly 425-435 is what I prefer. A PID temp of 505 is giving me that with my current environmental conditions. I'm not so sure the walls are necessarily hotter than the floor due simply to the...

    710 coils

I've never removed a banger from the coil unless I'm going to clean it. Definitely not needed if there's a proper fit. I would never want to try and take a banger off a hot coil, seems like a great way to burn myself!

    DCup Desktop Vaporizer by NewVape

You're right, I forget the DCup has a larger OD than a 30mm banger. I know some blowers make extra large bubblecaps, but they're definitely going to be much more difficult to find/more expensive. So possible to obtain, but likely not worth it. I was reading the sapphire insert thread at the...

    DCup Desktop Vaporizer by NewVape

Edit: nevermind, I was high and thought I was responding to a different thread. The below applies to bangers, but not the DCup due to its large diameter. Apologies! You definitely don't need to get the pearls spinning for them to be effective. In fact, I think spinning them is more...

Sapphire and Ruby inserts for bangers

Ya, there definitely seems to be a decent range of values. If I'm not mistaken, the surface finish will also affect the emissivity value, even between the same material. Could be wrong on that, would need to do a little more research. I use it more as a relative guide for myself, knowing the...

Sapphire and Ruby inserts for bangers

Interesting, I don't think I've seen that table, or a listing specifically for "sapphire" before. The coefficient they list is 0.48, which is wildly different than what I had been using. The closest I could find was "Emory Corundum" on this table. Scroll down to the 2nd table, the one for...

    Quartz Banger Thread

You want the pearls to move, but there's no need for them to be whipping around the insert by any means. Just some movement so they make contact with your concentrate imo. I'm surprised your having difficulty with the Quartz Pi cap, mine moves my pearls around easily in my 30mm banger/ruby...

Sapphire and Ruby inserts for bangers

I see it's been edited out by a moderator now, but their 1st post in this thread actually had a unique coupon code for $25 off at AT. A coupon code that was definitely assigned to them specifically. I don't know how referral codes/coupons work. Is there always a kick back to the person pushing...

Sapphire and Ruby inserts for bangers

Definitely get the insert. A new controller will add some very nice bells and whistles, and maybe some new functionality. But the gem insert really takes you to another level. @biohacker agreed, I don't need any more heat retention! It takes my insert roughly 15 minutes to come to room temp...

Sapphire and Ruby inserts for bangers

I think the company is based out Nevada? Maybe Arizona, but somewhere out in the South West if I'm not mistaken. Could be wrong on that though. Their inserts are sourced from Russia. I just weighed my 22mm ruby insert from 710Coils, and it weighed in at 15.04 g, or just a hair over 75 carats...

Sapphire and Ruby inserts for bangers

Right, if one insert is less karats, it will have less heat retention. There's absolutely no debate there. But the issue is, you're claiming all China sourced inserts have inferior heat retention to ones from Adapt Tech, simply because the Chinese insert YOU have is less karats. That's a...

Sapphire and Ruby inserts for bangers

Just watched that video, and it provided zero answers. You said you think the heat retention is less because it's thinner and weighs less. Of course, this makes complete sense. If the China insert and Russian insert are the same karats, why would the Russian one have better heat retention?

Sapphire and Ruby inserts for bangers

Definitely agree that sapphire/ruby is the best dab surface I have ever tried. Once you get those wonderful low temp dabs, it's hard to go back! Regarding your IR gun vs terpometer, what emissivity where you using on your IR gun? Have you tried playing around with the emissivity to see if you...

    710 coils

I wouldn't ever bother with a quartz insert, but a sapphire or ruby insert is a whole 'nother level of awesome and absolutely worth the effort. There's definitely a technique to it, but might be difficult to explain. With the qtip, apply outward radial pressure, so the insert is against the...

    DCup Desktop Vaporizer by NewVape

Ya, that sounds about right. I forgot to mention that those temps I use are with a ruby insert. So you'd need a little higher with SiC since it doesn't have the heat retention that ruby does.

    DCup Desktop Vaporizer by NewVape

Personally, I'd shoot for a temp on the floor of the dish on the 400-470. You can then adjust up or down from there depending on what you like/your material/how big your hit is.
