In usage there shouldn't be much difference, but in terms of long term battery safety and longevity I would charge externally, as a proper charger will have all the controls and safety features that you could not expect from on board charging in a vape.

Yup, like many here, I have a few TC capable mods, including a DNA200, and I end up just using wattage mode as it's always pretty consistent. I never really managed to get TC to give me the same fast satisfying results consistently.

I don't use the little honest torch as I can't get them to heat to vaporisation without being turned up so high that they don't extinguish till a couple of seconds after I have released the button, and I don't like that, so I use a fatter flamed dab style/kitchen torch which does the trick...
