The Pinky: an open-source DIY injector style thermal extraction device

any problems with breakage? I saw one person had theirs break while it was heating up. I have some glass Tigs on the way, and trying to figure out if they will be safe to use in this application. I am so glad these work, I have several :)

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

I was just recently looking at those dental induction heaters too, and wondered if it would work. I guess it won't be worth the trouble, and I just need to put my money towards something trustworthy. I haven't gotten back in line for any of the pipes heaters yet, just biding my time since there...

Another chillum style glass piece that works pretty well, no carb. This one is silver fume over amber tubing, with clear dots and stripes on the surface :D made by my man. I used a bit of silicone tube to make the M cap fit. I also put a glass shield around my heat coil mod. Its still a work in...

Alright y'all, I am putting together my mod/heat coil for heating the M. So far after 3 coils, I have settled on this for now. It works, I have to give it about 15 seconds heat time, pumping the power button to bypass the 10 second time out safety feature. I am definitely getting good results...

Yeah, it does take a little longer to get the click from a yellow flame, but I also found a more desirable heat level, didn't seem quite as hot as it does when I use a torch, and I am assuming it would be harder to combust using the yellow flame because you are not as likely to overheat it which...

I've mentioned this before, but you can avoid the soot, by suspending the cap about a 1/2 inch or so above the tip of the yellow flame, with a regular lighter. I get pretty solid rips from a standard lighter as well, just takes a few seconds longer for the click than a torch, and no soot.

Ok, first attempt at making a glass stem for the M. I tried making it to slip the heat cap over the end, but the fit was too tight, couldn't get any airflow, so I just popped a bit of high temp food grade silicone on the end, and put the head of the M on there. Illuminati roll stop, carb hole...

I just got a reply from Payton Penn on YT video, he says he's using 22 gauge kanthal. I was wondering about avoiding shorts too. I definitely want this to work, because I have found many situations, outside where this method of heating would be more discrete and it looks to be pretty fast on the...

any idea what the gauge of your wire is?? I've been reading back and can't find it mentioned. We have a ton of ecig parts, mod and rebuildable laying around. I just might need to pick up some wire.

I've been looking at this one, would probably get it, but I already have a pile of torches of various sizes. Good to hear it works well, if I ever decide to get it. :) My favorite has been my 3 flame with flip cap, I use the cap as a rest to spin on like you are with this desk model. Seems to...

I was wondering how the magnet that is on the DV website behaves, does it push to the edge or does it just grab where you set it? I am guessing it has enough pull to remove the cap as well. I have a hard time using my magnets that I had already, they pull from one side like most of the ones...

I burned my arm the other day, reaching up to scratch an itch, and grazing across a freshly heated cap while I was puffing... better pay more attention eh? :p That little sucker is hot, left a blister and a red mark on my arm. I will remember to pay attention better now though hehehe... no...

speaking of using a bic to heat the DV, I was curious, but didn't want to get soot all over my cap, and I remembered a previous post about somebody using a candle, suspending the DV a few inches over the flame, so I tried it out, using a bic, I just made sure there was about an inch of air...

I agree, I spin one direction and also avoid heating past the click, hell I've nearly burned a load waiting to hear the click, just from heating it too low on the cap. I guess it's a personal preference, and maybe there is a little variance in how consistent the click is from one unit to the...
