yes. small loads will use even less! its not THE MOST efficient vape but it does conserve your herb a ton compared to any way of combustion.

Thats what I would do. To limit stress of clicking the nob from the on/off position I would keep it at the lowest possible level while still being ON to be on standby. Rarely did it go OFF except for extended periods of time.

Could be different things. My first and instinct guess would be that you are simply going too hot (maybe along with taking too big of a hit). Next I would say your herb should be more dry, so it will vape better though you may want to turn the temp down for dryer herb so as not to come near...

A cheaper, still just as clean lighter alternative for combustion: a glow rod. also known as a glow wand. Its a glass stick basically with one end rounded like a ball, you torch the round end with a jet flame(blue flame) until it is RED hot, then you use it to light the herb, you just touch it...
