One thing I do is take out your abv from the heating chamber. then crush it up in my hand. Put it back in the heating chamber. For a few more bags.

I would say that it`s not in direct contact with the heat. I think its just a cap to keep the heat in. If you wanted that look maybe try heating the cap up. Torch?
