    Rosin Technique....Easy DIY Solventless

That could be your problem there, once you get to lower temps you really gotta wait a bit before it's all been squeezed out. at 210 with 2,200 psi i still need to wait about 30 seconds to get everything. And i'll be honest, i havn't pressed recently. It's a little sad, the press hasn't been...

Idk about 20 tons, but i use tea bags with my 8 tonner. They're a lot thinner... and rip easier than cofffee filters. I use coffee filters too but they seem to soak up to much oil. With 20 tons i'm sure that won't be a problem though. Go slow, and don't pack the bags too much. You should be fine.

I completely agree. But plates that have coils or some sort of heater are a huge convenience. It makes things go much quicker. And lately i've been upping the temp as i press to get extra oils out. I was waiting until it was at the right temp, and then just pressing right then. Since i started...

I have a diy 8 tonner. I get 20% usually. The lowest i've gotten now was 15%. I'm not using the best bud on earth either. Pressure is key.

It's oil that seeped out from old presses, it sat on the plates and turned dark from the heat over time. The same thing used to happen to me. Start doubling or even trippling up on layers of parchment and the problem goes away. it keeps tiny stems from poking holes in the parchment.

210-220, thats where i always press. For 30 seconds, with the paper folded so most puddles outside the plates. Theres a relatively quick and easy way to get your rosin to butter without stirring out the terps, that was even mentioned on hashchurch. I figuered it out on my own accidently, It's...

Rosin from low temps regularly butters for me. Then if i leave that out for a few more hrs it dries to a more dry butter/crumble type cakebatter. I dab it before it gets to a crumble, but i'm sure it would turn into one.

So I don't like filtering When i actually press, the big filters needed for the flowers absorbs too much oil. but i got a new banger i spent big bucks on, and i don't wanna fuck it up so i got on a filtering tick. It's fun to filter it all after collection because you get these fun rosin...

It's not something i'd recommend every day really, dabbing claim that is, but wait till you see how nice you're rosin's reclaim will be. If you could stand the taste of your old claim, this will be even better, you might even like the taste. I make bho's reclaim into edibles exclusively, I...

You could always build one for a little less, and a little better. Plates from joel are the way to go though.. I'm getting about 20% with my 8 ton jack and homebrew press. This is two seperate strains, same temps, between 210-225, but very different color and consistency. The darker oil tastes...

I'd really like to see someone with a gauge find out if pressing with bottle jacks as much as we can is anywhere near the pressure the jack claims. I'm doing the same thing as you, and a lot of us here are too, it would be good to know. And this is a good test to see the pressure you're putting...

Depending on your setup theres basically no initial investment. The clamp setup on the page before runs at about $40 in total, and to upgrade right away from the clamp, you can get a cheap vice at lowes for the same price as a clamp, but you need a sturdy place to mount it. It's more than worth...

I pressed at 190-200 for the first press, and bumped it to 230-240 for the second press to get everything. I didn't count times to be honest, i press until it seems done squirting, anywhere from 45-60 seconds usually? It's never exact. It's just the oil thats left looks like oil that would...

I got around to finishing my press. After using it a few times I did need to make some changes. I trippled the vertical beams, and added more steel to the top and bottom. And a bunch more bolts... And a hideous but tough wooden base. There's basically no "tension" on anything now, It's all just...

Making BHO with traditional hashes. . .

I used to make qwiso with lebanese as well, my trick was to grind it, let it dry or an hour, and try to grind it even finer and finer. It's getting it all in contact with the alcohol fast as you can that matters, and then strain it as soon as there aren't any more sandy bits on the bottom. I...

I'm definitely mortal... that's why I questioned it. I didn't bend it forever, but got the ends to flex in my hands. Lucky me I could get pre-cut sections just the right length too. Should I use those with the channel facing outward as the vertical bars or re-do the whole frame? I could just get...

Thank you, I was going to go with all steel flatbar, The ease of use is what made me use this metal. I'm a lazy kid, this is my first build besides a few tables for the house. Nothing deforms under the most pressure I can get, but the upright beams sing if you strum them. Way to much tension...

    Rosin Technique....Easy DIY Solventless

Yay, I finished my press. It came in at $70. I think it might need some more reinforcement maybe, and it'll get a wood base, but for now, any thoughts? 8 tons. Whoop whoop. The upright beams are the 1/16 inch x 1 3/8th inch, galvanized steel. If i double it up should I be worry free? I feel...

Whatever situation youre in that you can get dry sift for the same price as buds, roll with it and press the sift. When I used to make qwiso I could get import hash for the same price as buds. so I ran the hash. It always came out tasting like straight dirt. Like a fall morning, rotting...

I was imagining it a lot more complicated than that, thats less reinforcement than I thought it'd need. With my plate size and shape i might need two, but this makes things a lot clearer. I may be over building this press after all... I'd rather it was sturdy though. Better safe than sorry.
