Oh, I hadn’t realized that the normal portable version didn’t come with the A/C adaptor. That makes the prices make a bit more sense.

Is there any real advantage to buying the limited edition models? From what I can see it looks like it’s almost an extra $100 for a bag and WPA, which doesn’t seem like a great deal. Am I missing out on something else about them?

It’s basically a standard quartz banger (it’s just an Evan Shore Titty banger with a tiny hotplate attached to the bottom), so it’s down to your personal preference. I usually use it without inserts/pearls, but they work fine.

Anyone know if the plans to offer parts on EBay panned out? I was just cleaning my gear and discovered that my plate has a very fine crack in it.

Just make sure it’s cotton. I’m sure it varies by country, but the US and Canada have both adopted rayon and polyester fluff for pill bottles. The poly is pretty obvious, but rayon can look very similar to cotton.

The cotton industry makes astonishingly heavy use of pesticides, with much less stringent regulations than food. Be careful!

Could you just link us to the post where this happened? This thread is over 1000 comments; expecting anyone to search through it when you already know the location of the relevant comment seems kind of ridiculous.

Are there any Oregon farms you’d recommend for silvertip? I love it, but it’s rare to find in Portland (Bullrun is the only grower that I see it from regularly, but it’s not too frequent. My favorite grower was Jasper Hill, but I think they’ve been out of the commercial market for a long while now).

Could you provide some more info about this? My O-chem days in college left me with the opposite impression, and looking at the current literature I’m not seeing anything that backs up your assertion.
