I came to the table again with all the tips from the great users of this site and it went much better. Just a slight bit of combustion during a few bowls, more of a scorch really. The not pre-lighting is what works for me. I never even really get close to the plate at all with the flame...

Still combust every time. Could I have messed up my plate somehow that quickly?

I have had my Lotus for a few days now and all smell has worn away. However, I am experiencing a personal downfall. Every time I use it I combust! I have watched some videos and tried many, many different ways of lighting, but no luck. I have read so many favorable reviews, I just don't get it .

Thanks folks. This really is a helpful community. By the end of last night the taste/smell was nearly gone. It took about 3 to 4 loads just like people said to dissipate. I'll check in again, but my guess is today's medicating will go of without a hitch. Looks like the Nano has a friend...

Seems worse through the 15" pipe. When using it through the J Hook I'm getting good flavor, weird. Hopefully it resolves as I can see this things potential immediately.

I do have an extremely good taste/smell connection. One may say two good sometimes.

That's good I was having a heat attack. I have owned and sold many vapes over tastes other than my botanicals. I did a lot of research on the Lotus and never saw anything on break in smell. ... I should probably add that mine is the all natural version.

So here's my story. I just got my Lotus and have no problem getting it to vape, but there is a wood smell/taste that is driving me crazy. Please tell that if this is normal that it goes away.

True. Combusting was necessary with my E-Nano to find perfection. I have tried searching everywhere to find that metal slide lifter to no avail. :(

I didn't know that a J-Hook can work as a natural perc. Do you get any water in the mouth when using it? I wasn't even thinking that the reducer I posted might be to hot to pick up. I wonder if there is a little metal piece that can go under the reducer as a lifter. Anyone know where to find...
