Hey guys, I just pulled out my old SSV and wanted to do the ball mod on it... Does anyone have links to the proper screens I need for this? In particular the small basket screens I've seen people use to cover the air intake on the heater cover? Thanks!

If you want a "one size fits all user experience" the FP probably isn't for you... There are a bunch of variables that can change the FP experience (pearl size, glass piece, screen type, nut type, diffuser type etc) and not everyone has the same preferences. Tweaking your devices can make it...

I always keep my B2 at 660f for both flower and double deckers. But a bunch of other factors like pearl size used in the fp head, the glass piece used, the ambient room temp etc are also things that are going to determine how much airflow restriction there is and what temp you should be...

I'd go for a proper stand, but plenty have used ceramic mugs and dishes just fine. You can leave it on all day if you want no problem. I know of a user or two that never turn them off lol. Turning it off when not in use will be better for the health and longevity of the coil/controller though.

I never said he should stay away from the Vrod. But he probably should since he thought it was too airy, it's discontinued and the ballers are a big upgrade anyway. And this isn't an opinion based thing. It's kind of factual that the B2 has more airflow restriction than the B1.

That's exactly what I'm saying and I own both. Have the Vrod still also. You can't seriously look at the B1 Nut and tell me it has more airflow resistance than the B2/Vrod top. It's nothing but a screen. Combine that with the wide open screen diffuser and the airflow is wide wide wide open on...

I guess we'll have to disagree then. B2 has much more resistance, especially if you use 3mm pearls. B1 airflow is wide open in comparison regardless. Based on what he said I would go B2, but that's just me.

B1 has almost no resistance though. Airflow is wide open. If a Vrod without the carb cap has too much airflow then I don't think the B1 is for him. Unless I'm totally misunderstanding what he means by "airy."

Eh, you're wrong about sic. Silicon Carbide is about 3x more thermally conductive than ruby. I have sic pearls in my B2. The heat that radiates off the head assembly is more intense at the same temps as the other materials. And after one hitting a bowl it's ready to go again before you can get...

The BROD isn't the B1 or B2... And why would they continue producing the vrod/weedeater when they aren't the head assemblies that are selling? That seems like bad business.

Seeing how low I could go with temps was exciting for the first week I had my B2. Now I'm back at 666f melting my face off lol

I can't answer your question, but... A carb cap is super unnecessary with the B1.

I just use a large Str8 Brand case that holds a glass piece and my fp setup. Super easy and portable. Travel with it all of the time.
